Dear Gary,
I’m writing this letter to thank you and to let you know how much we really enjoyed having our boys’ birthday party at Troy Blackbelt Academy.
As a parent of two boys who are always looking for some new and exciting way to celebrate their birthday party, I was running out of ideas. We had already had birthday parties in the park, at home, at the bowling alley, the swim club, the bouncy place, Chuck E Cheese and numerous other venues. Then I saw your handout one evening, advertising a karate party.
The first thing that caught my eye was the price. It was an excellent price…cheaper than any other public venue. (And I hate to admit it, but cheaper than I would have spent putting a party on at home!)
Of course, my next thought was, what about all the kids we’re going to invite? Are they all going to enjoy getting together for karate?? I had my reservations, but for the price I decided to give it a try. WOW! There was so much more to your party than just karate! The kids all had so much fun!
The obstacle course competition you put together for all the kids really drew them in, and you could tell that they really had a good time with it. (Even a couple of the bigger kids who almost got stuck in the tube…it was so much fun for us parents to watch!) Next, all of the other games that you played. I never would have been able to come up with so many things to keep the kids involved. Then of course, all the candy that the kids kept winning, just for participating…they LOVED it.
And of course, the best thing for me was, all I needed to do was show up with a cake and ice cream. You guys did EVERYTHING, including cleaning up afterward! You even provided goody-bags! The only thing I did was to tie some balloons to each of the guest’s chairs. Aside from the cake, that was the only thing we brought. The kids loved the pizza, and when I told you my one son wouldn’t eat pizza, you even bought him a small salad that he would eat. Thanks for being so thoughtful!
When we left after the party, it was so nice not to feel rushed! Every other venue we’ve gone to you had to be out the door at an exact time…normally 2 ½ hours after the party started. Here, yes we had the time of the party set, but you didn’t kick us out – which is good, because there was a LOT of construction delays for our guests the day of the party, and we actually started the party late. You let us wrap up the party without rushing us to the door.
This is one of the best parties my sons have had. They have wonderful memories, and also a broken board each, that they broke in front of all of their friends, which will always remind them of their special day. Thank you again!
